Computer Laboratory Rules
Anyone using the general use computer laboratories at Trinity are required
to abide by these rules and by the Code
of Ethics for for Computing at Trinity. Printed copies of these rules
are posted in each of the computer labs and at the Help Desk.
- All persons using the lab must have a valid Trinity University Identification
Card. This card must be displayed at all times when using the computer
equipment.
- All equipment must be used in a manner consistent with Trinity University
policies and United States copyright laws. Misuse of either may result
in disciplinary action and possible fines.
- No food, drink, or tobacco use is permitted in the labs at any time.
- Radios, tape recorders, and CD players may not be played in the labs
without the use of headphones. Televisions are not allowed in the labs.
- Use of lab equipment is restricted to one-hour sessions between 8:00am
and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, and two-hour sessions on nights and
weekends whenever others are waiting to use the computers.
- The computers may be used for recreation or entertainment unless there
are people waiting to use the computers for class assignments. Games that
are part of class assignments are subject to the time limits stated above.
- TUCC equipment may not be used for business or in any for-profit venture.
- Personal items should not be stored in the labs. Items left unattended
will be turned over to Lost and Found in the Coates Center.
- All computers users must sign in on the sign-in
sheet provided at each station. This information is used to track lab
usage and determine where additional equipment is needed.
- ACCs and Computing Center personnel have the responsibility of enforcing
the rules in the labs. ACCs or Computing Center staff may instruct anyone
violating the rules to leave the lab.
- The Help Desk computers are not to be used for editing and correcting
in order that they remain available for assistance and use of the special
equipment in the room.
