Instructions for Retrieving and Installing MI/X Terminal Software
1. Bring the files getme1st.exe and file0001.bin to your machine by using anonymous ftp from the machine moof.cs.trinity.edu in the pub directory. These files can be put in a directory called, for example, install. That is done as follows:
a. Open the n:\Akonstam\pc directory. (N: is equivalent to CLASS on TUCC8)
b. Copy the files file0001.bin and getme1st.exe to the install directory.
2. Open up the install directory and click on the getme1st.exe icon. That runs this program producing a series of files.
3. One of these file is setup.exe; which you now run.
4. The MI/X Server window appears. Click on continue.
5. A destination choice window opens. The default location: C:\MIX_95 is OK. Click continue.
6. You are asked whether you want to delete the original files. If you want to save space you can click yes.
7. Then a window opens with the message: Setup succeeded. Close all windows except the window with the MIX Server 5.6 icon. Click on that icon with the right mouse button and create a shortcut to that program. Drag the shortcut to the desktop.
