The daytime laboratory hours are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.,
Monday through Friday.
The evening laboratory hours are those times outside the
daytime hours (5:01 P.M to 7:59 A.M. Monday through Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
During daytime hours, the Workstation Laboratory (HAS 228) may be
used as a Computer Science lecture and laboratory room for regularly scheduled
classes. Such use may include
reserved use by classes not regularly scheduled in this room. The reservation
schedule will be posted near the Laboratory entrance so that other
Lab users will be aware of scheduled use of the Workstation Laboratory.
Other use of the Workstation Laboratory during daytime hours is subject to
the following conditions:
Users must have a valid Computer Science login id on
the Department's Unix systems or NT server.
Users must be logged off the computer and out of the room
during those times that the lab is reserved (check the reservation sheet
on the door as you enter the room).
User's must be prepared to log out and leave the laboratory when
requested by Computer Science faculty.
After using the Windows 2000 operating system, users must reboot the Linux operating
system unless it is known in advance that the next user of that machine
wishes to use Windows 2000. Instructions for booting Linux or Windows 2000
Do not reboot a machine by turning off the
machine or pressing the reset switch. This may cause catastropic file
system damage and is considered a violation of the Trinity
University Code of Ethics for Computing.
Students should always log out when leaving the workstation.
Never lock one of the workstations for more than 10
minutes!
