Class Activities
- Before class:
- Make sure that Assignment 03 is submitted before the beginning of class. Late assignments will not be accepted.
- See instructor or TA about completing the database entry.
- View Wikis in Plain English now showing in TLearn.
- Class Photo - Take your valuables with you.
- Download the data files that can be used with your textbook and save them in your Y: drive. This will make them available in class. You can receive an extra daily grade by e-mailing me a screenshot showing the data files in your Y: drive.
- Demonstration of drawing tools in Word 2007. Student can sign-up for a 14-day free trial. See the form at the bottom of the page.

Hands-on Assignments
Assignments may be started in class, but finished and submitted by the due date. No late assignments will be accepted.
- Assignment 04: Class Wiki
- Due Date: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 before class.
- Send an e-mail to Joe Hatch to thank him for something that you learned that will help you protect your data & computer. Make sure to copy me.
- Review notes taken during Joe Hatch presentation on Computer Security.
- Login to class wiki. View the tutorial videos as needed.
- Edit Lock - to prevent more than one person from editing a page at the same time
- Find your class folder. Open the document on Computer Security. Follow the instructions at the top of the page. If you take this lesson seriously, then you will have a great set of notes over the topic of Computer Security.
- Grading (20 pts.):
- E-mail to guest speaker (5 pts.)
- You must use your own words. Copying from the reading material will be considered a breach of the Honor Code.
- Provide at least 3 new questions and answers (6 pts.). You can earn 2 pts. for each additional question & answer.
- Improve another student's answer by adding more information (1 pt. for each).
- Correct another student's answer. Your entry needs to be correct (1 pt. for each).
- Add a question for which you do not have the answer (1 pt.).
- Answer a question that another student did not provide an answer (1 pt. for each).
- Remember the Wiki Etiquette and sign your entries to receive your credit.

- Read Chapters 1-3 in your textbook. This assignment needs to be complete no later than Thursday, September 11, 2008. Expect a short quiz.
