My name is Farzan and I was born in Mashhad,
Iran .
I received my Ph.D. in
electrical engineering from The Ohio State University
in 1989. My area of
specialty is solid state devices and electronics. Currently, I am a
professor at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
My favorite sport is soccer which I have not played in seven years.
I love classical music, opera and traveling especially to europe. My favorite
place to visit is Greece for its food, beauty and a culture
that reminds me of home.
During my younger days back in Iran (

my mother always inspired me to do my very best in school. My father
provided the moral support needed
when my performance was not up to my mother's standard.

I have a brother in San Antonio who is a professor of electrical
engineering at St. Mary's University. We closely collaborate in our
research activities.

I also have a sister who lives in Germany or Iran depending on what month of
the year it is. She is a medical doctor because my father always
thought it was very
important for every family to have a dedicated physician in the house.
