My name is Farzan and I was born in Mashhad, Iran . I received my Ph.D. in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University in 1989. My area of specialty is solid state devices and electronics. Currently, I am a professor at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. My favorite sport is soccer which I have not played in seven years. I love classical music, opera and traveling especially to europe. My favorite place to visit is Greece for its food, beauty and a culture that reminds me of home.

During my younger days back in Iran ( click here to see two pictures), my mother always inspired me to do my very best in school. My father provided the moral support needed when my performance was not up to my mother's standard. Click here to see a picture of my parents.

I have a brother in San Antonio who is a professor of electrical engineering at St. Mary's University. We closely collaborate in our research activities. Click here to take a look at his creative homepage.

I also have a sister who lives in Germany or Iran depending on what month of the year it is. She is a medical doctor because my father always thought it was very important for every family to have a dedicated physician in the house.
