Website Presentations:
Please limit your presentation to three minutes - thanks!

Take notes as students present - your homework assignment will be to update your blog by listing your three favorite Student Websites and giving informative reasons why you liked them. Take into account the style of the presenter - did he or she just click through the pages, or use them instead as informative and interesting data? What design effects were especially good? Was the presentation persuasive in making you want to learn more about the person's interests and background? Why or why not?

Review: Publish Web on Sol:

For safety, backup your Web in your shared folder onto your Y drive.

Open your HTML-Documents folder on Sol and copy and paste the folders and files from inside your Web folder (25myweb). The  page named index.htm is your home page.

To open your HTML-Documents folder:
start >> run>> \\sol.cs.trinity.edu\userid\Local\HTML-Documents (substitute your own userid)

Website Q&A

Some things to check for:

• Did you use a standard font for your text blocks?
• Did you have good clear contrast in your text blocks/backgrounds?
• Did you have titles for your pages, not just Untitled 1?
• Did you use tables or some other method to keep you pictures in order?
• Was your web folder saved in the correct manner in the right place?
• Were your navbars centered when appropriate?
• Did you have an email link?
• Did you include a thumbnail image?
• Did you include an animation or other dynamic effect?
• Did you use a consistent clear layout and color scheme?
• Were your images clear, not "pixelated?"
• Were your images distorted or out of proportion?
• Did your viewer have to scroll a long way to reach the end of the page?
• Did your hyperlinks work, both internal and external?
• Were your hyperlinks clearly marked, logically placed, and easy to follow?

Blog updates on your blog re: student websites, listing three favorites and why. End your comments with a sentence about where we can find your own website, for example, "Please visit my own website at http://www.cs.trinity.edu/~jbelisle."
