Review Imagemaps

Important concept: You can make a webpage with many different programs - Dreamweaver, SeaMonkey, Expression Web - and you can go back and forth among them to suit your purposes. You can also hand-code inside or outside of these programs.

Important concept: You can make a website complete with link, graphics and content, but it will remain in a local folder on your computer until you publish it to a web hosting service. You may wish to purchase your own domain name first. Here is a list of the top15 for 2014 (and their fees) according to Review.org

Dreamweaver makes it easy to create a dropdown menu - you must upload your Spry Assests folder to make it work:

Check your site before we publish

  • Do you use a standard font for your text blocks? Why is this important?
  • Do you have good clear contrast in your text blocks/backgrounds?
  • Do you have titles for your pages, not just Untitled 1?
  • Do you use tables or some other method to keep your text and pictures in order?
  • Was your web folder saved in the correct manner in the right place?
  • Are your navbars centered when appropriate?
  • Do you have an email link?
  • Do you include a thumbnail image?
  • Do you include an animation or other dynamic effect?
  • Do you use a consistent clear layout and color scheme?
  • Are your images clear, not "pixelated?"
  • Are your images distorted or out of proportion?
  • Do your viewers have to scroll a long way to reach the end of the page?
  • Do your hyperlinks work, both internal and external?
  • Are your hyperlinks clearly marked, logically placed, and easy to follow?
