Minimize Discourse

Agenda:

1. Using a WYSIWYG editor - SeaMonkey (for basics) and Expression Web and/or Dreamweaver (for advanced effects) - Copy 22wwysiwyg from class to groups

2. Preparing your digital portfolio/final website - GUIDELINES
Purpose – this site will showcase or promote something that you want to share with others. It could be your writing, your artwork, your organization or yourself. It could also be an extension of your PowerPoint presentation on a subject you believe in. Here are some variations on themes:

3. Examples of good student websites from previous semesters:

4. Understand the importance of the web file folder and set up a 25mywebusername folder for your website pictures and content pages. Make an images folder inside that folder.

5. Open 22wwysiwyg from Class to your shared folder. We will handcode a webpage first, and then we will use SeaMonkey for comparison. While setting our background, we will review the hexadecimal color system, for web-safe browser colors.

6. We will work on a practice web to see how pages link together for good navigation

7. We will explore a bit of JavaScript within the web environment
