Diagram of the Trinity Network – You will be graded on this assignment.

The objective of this activity is to use features of MS Word 2007 to show your understanding of networking as it is used here at Trinity. Use the readymade shapes in MS Word, clip art, and pictures to complete a diagram of the Trinity network. Place your diagram on a drawing canvass. (If you have a Mac, you should use the autoshapes in Office 2004. Do not use a drawing canvass.)Your diagram should show the following:

• How your computer connects in the dorm (show wired and wireless connections)
• Connection between your dorm and the server room in Halsell (name wiring). Include Ruth Taylor.
• Show/name some of the servers that provide you basic resources (email, Y drive, class drive) in Halsell.
• Show how Trinity connects to the Internet (You can simplify your diagram by showing a connection directly from Halsell to the Internet Service Provider. Assume the router and firewall are in Halsell.)

Use text boxes to explain your diagram. Include color, connectors, one or more 3-dimensional shapes, one or more clip-art images, in your diagram. You may insert pictures, if desired, but your pictures should not be linked to the Internet. Put your name, computer #, and class time in the upper left hand corner.

Copy the 4network folder from the class folder to your shared groups folder. Open the file homework on network in the shared groups folder. Include your name. Create the diagram and SAVE.
