GIMP is an open source program.
To see how to download GIMP onto your computer, see GIMP folder in class
folder.
We will create the following photocollage in class using GIMP.

Copy 19GIMP folder to groups folder.
Homework:
Make a photo collage using GIMP choosing one of the following:
Choice 1: Create a 5" by 7" postcard attracting visitors to your hometown that can also be used as a graphic on the Chamber of Commerce website.
Choice 2. Create a 5" by 7" postcard that could be used as a Halloween Card.
-The
dimensions should be be five
inches tall and seven inches wide resolution 72ppi
-The background may
be transparent or solid.
-You may choose what photographs to use - most cities and towns have a
web-based site with pictures and information about their community. Since this
is a homework assignment and will not be published to the web, copying from the
Internet is acceptable for practice. Don't forget about the Stock
Exchange. Save all photos that you use in the 19GIMP folder.
-You will use at least three
photographs and each one should be placed on a separate layer
during the design process.
-Include a text layers in your graphic.
Show that you can:
Use the selection tool with feathering.
Use layers.
Use move.
Create text.
Save the file named collage two ways: Save you graphic as a GIMP file. Also save it as a flattened jpg. Be sure to save the files in the 19GIMP folder.
Note: Your shortcuts in your Y drive will not work when you open or save in GIMP. You can copy the 19GIMP folder to your Y drive or your desktop. When you have completed the assignment, copy the 19GIMP folder back into your groups folder.
Note: If your photos are too large, you may need to use the Image>>Scale Image
