Home Kids Life at Trinity Educational Goals Favorites

My first job at Trinity was working as a part-time secretary for the Psychology Department.  I was very excited to have the opportunity to work at Trinity.  One of my goals was that I would be working at a place where I would be able to learn as an employee,  but also have the opportunity to pursue a career.  Trinity has given me both, a great job where the limits are the ones I set myself and the great opportunity to learn from some of the top faculty in the country.  I am very fortunate to be able to have this great job and take classes that are part of our benefit package.  When the opportunity came for a full time position, I immediately applied and accepted the job as secretary to the History department.  There, I was able to work directly with Dr. Char Miller and everyone in the History department.  History is a fascinating area of study.  During the conversations that would start in the front office, I was able to learn just by listening to the great discussion between the faculty and student.  History has so much to teach us, unfortunately, it is very difficult to avoid making the same mistakes, if we don't know our political history.

Currently I work in the Computer Science department with some of the most amazing people.  It is incredible the amount of work they do and to me it is great to learn that each student is valued and directed with an equal amount of attention.  Unfortunately, I do see a very small number of female Computer Science majors and I am working on generating a plan to increase the amount of females who would major in Computer Science.
