Dorm Configuration For SOL and Ananke

1] Open the Control Panel. Using the mouse, double-click on Network and Sharing Center (See Below!)

   

2] Select Manage Network Connections in the task bar on the left. (See Below!)

3] Using the mouse, right-mouse click on the Local Area Network Connection - Select Properties. (See Below!)

4] Using the mouse, select TCP/IPv4 - Push the Properties button.  (See Below!)

5] Using the mouse, push the Advanced button.  (See Below!)

6] make sure that your DNS looks something like the following: (Be sure to add the trinity.local).      (See Below!)

7] Add the following WINS servers. Select OK and save.  (See Below!)

8] At this point, you should be able to do the following from lower campus.

9] Open Administrative Tools. (See Below!)

10] Open Local Security Policy. (See Below!)

11] Expand Local Policies on the left. Select Security Options. Double-click on Network security: LAN Manager authentication level.  (See Below!)

12] Change the authentication to Send LM and NTLM responses.  (See Below!)

13] You should now be able to do \\sol in the run window .  (See Below!)

14] Login on using your Windows Password - Different password than on Linux.  (See Below!)

15] I can see my users/thicks directory mounted.  (See Below!)

16] I can see the contents of my 1320 directory.  (See Below!)

17] I can see the contents of my 1320 directory.  (See Below!)

18] I could open Hello.c with word pad.  (See Below!)

19] Hello.c looks somewhat the same in the Putty Terminal.  (See Below!)

20] Download a copy of the Putty Terminal.  (See Below!)

20] Copy The Putty Telnet Session Folder to your computer. (See Below!)
