Know Where You Store You Have Saved Your Files

1] Use your favorite word processor to prepare your drama. Know where you save the files. Jenny has the two word documents in directory C:\Drama (See Below!)

Passwords

1] Each arranger has a PraiseHim.biz password that they use when they log on. This is the arranger's master password.  For purposes of this tutorial, let us assume that Jenny's master password is DogFood. All passwords and buyers keys are case sensitive!

2] Each read-only distribution file should have it's own unique to-open password.. I recommend using capital letters. Use at least 6-8 letters. Don't use capital O! Use a collection of non-sense letters that you just make up. For purposes of this tutorial, let us assume that buyer's key password is MNNYGVFD.

Creating A Non-Printable, Non-Changeable  Public File

1] Open your non-printable public file in your word processor. Select the print option. If you are using Microsoft Word, you will hold down the File Menu and select Print.  (See Below!)

If you have the right software, the owner can edit the pdf file at a later time with the file's administrative, master password. For purposes of this tutorial, let us assume that this master  password is DogFood. You will have less to remember if you use the same owner/master password on all of your files.

2]   Using the mouse, select/push the Docucom PDF Driver as your printer selection.  (See Below!)

3]  Time to configure the security. Using the mouse, select/push the Properties button.  (See Below!)

4]  Using the mouse, select/push the PDF Settings tab.  (See Below!)

5] Using the mouse, hold down the Conversion Control drop-down and select High Quality. (See Below!)

6] Using the mouse, select/push the Security Advanced button. (See Below!)

7] There are several options to select in this screen:  (See Below!)

Using the mouse, select\push the OK button. (See Below!)

8] Security is now configured. Time to return and print. Using the mouse, select\push the OK button. (See Below!)

9] I am saving the file in directory  C:\Drama. I am choosing to name the new pdf file TheMomentItFellApartDramaDemo.pdf, Using the mouse, select\push the Save button. (See Below!)

10] Adobe should load with the file. Note that the printer is gray; it can not be printed. Neither can this file be altered. Using the mouse, select\push the OK button. (See Below!) Your version of Adobe Acrobat may look different than mine; that is ok! If the file does not open, make sure you download and install adobe acrobat 5 or 6; the 128-bit encryption  will not open with adobe 4.x.

Creating A Password Protected, Printable, Non-Changeable Secure File

1] Open your password protected file in your word processor. Select the print option. If you are using Microsoft Word, you will hold down the File Menu and select Print.  (See Below!)

For purposes of this tutorial, let us assume that this to-open  password is MNNYGVFD. It would be best if each of your files had a different to-open password.

  • Select Open Password on the left.
  • The Open Password and Confirm Password beneath should be the to-open distribution key [MNNYGVFD]; we want the intended audience to be able to open and print the password protected file.
  • The Owner/Master Password and Confirm Password beneath should both be DogFood; we want the owner to be able to edit the file later.
  • Use the Encryption Level drop-down to select 128-bit
  • Uncheck Allow Content Access for Visually Impaired
  • Uncheck Allow Content Copying and Extraction
  • Use the Changes Allowed drop-down to select Not Allowed
  • Use the Printing drop-down and select Fully Allowed
  • This file should probably not include the water mark

Using the mouse, select\push the OK button. (See Below!)

8] Security is now configured. Time to return and print. Using the mouse, select\push the OK button. (See Below!)

9] I am saving the file in directory  C:\Drama. I am choosing to name the new pdf file TheMomentItFellApartDramaP.pdf, Using the mouse, select\push the Save button. (See Below!)

10] Adobe should load with the file. Since the complete version requires a password to open, you will have to enter the buyer's key in the text box. Using the mouse, select\push the OK button. (See Below!)

11] Note that the printer is not gray; it can not be printed. Neither can this file be altered. Using the mouse, select\push the OK button. (See Below!) Your version of Adobe Acrobat may look different than mine; that is ok! If the file does not open, make sure you download and install adobe acrobat 5 or 6; it will not open with adobe 4.x.

Re-Examine Directory C:\Drama
