Install Oracle Client For NT/2000

Starts with the Oracle Universal Installer. Select Install! (See Below)

In order to connect with my server, my Database design class must use Service Name: csci3343 (See Below)
If you are connecting to your own server, installed in accordance with my Install Oracle Enterprise Tutorial, you shall  use Service Name: o8ibegin as illustrated below.

We are using TCP/IP on our network. (See Below)

Our database server is on Ananke_Server. Use Host Name: ananke.cs.trinity.edu (See Below)

Perform the connection test!(See Below)

If successful, continue.(See Below)

If you are connecting to your own server, installed in accordance with my Install Oracle Enterprise Tutorial, you shall  use Net Service Name: o8ibegin as illustrated below.

You may identify other databases for which you have access at this time. We have admingrp, csci3343, and o8ibegin installed at this time. Selecting Yes will cycle you back through the previous six screens for each database. Eventually, you will select No. (See Below!)

Your Net Service Name Configuration is now complete.  (See Below)

Your Net8 configuration is now complete.  (See Below)

Time to exit the Universal Installer and try to connect.  (See Below)

Try A Connection

The Oracle-Ora81 folder has been placed in your Programs directory of the Start menu. You may choose to move it to make it more easily accessible. Start SQL Plus. (See Below)

You may use UserName : system & Password manager & Host String o8ibegin to log on that first time.
My database design class will use UserName : system & Password manager & Host String csci3343 to log on that first time.

We have a connected client! (See Below)
