Prepare To Install

In order to download and install FTP Explorer in Windows 95/NT, you must have an installed decompression program which will decompress .zip files. One such program is WinZip. Those of you who need to download and install WinZip will find assistance in the link below!
 

Download & Installation of WinZip

"FTP Explorer  is available as Shareware for you to try out for 30 days free of charge. Educators and students may use the program for free.  Others may use the program after 30 days; at that point they must uninstall it or register it. You can obtain product pricing and also order the registered version from the Web site below.

Install FTP Explorer!

1] Using the mouse, I double click on the compressed file, ftpx.zip, to decompress and install the ftp application.
 

2] I push the Install button! (below)
 
 
3] I push the OK button! (below)
 

4] I push the Next button! (below)
 

5] I select the destination directory for the application and push the Next button! (below)
 

6] I push the Yes button to create the directory! (below)
 

 
7] I push the Finish button! (below) I encourage you to read the readme file once.
 
 
8] The readme file tells you that as a faculty member or a student, you may use this application freely; others must pay $30.00 for this shareware application.
 
 

9] I push the Yes button! (below) I encourage you to restart your system.

 
 
10] I push the OK button! (below)
 
 
11] Note the application icons that appear in the FTP Explorer folder!
 
 
12] I push the OK button  to acknowledge that WinZip has completed the install! (below)
 
 
13] I close WinZip and allow the reboot to continue! Screens 12 & 13 might be switched depending upon what you have done with your mouse!
