Intel, Questar Provide Scholarships
Intel Corp. and Questar Corp. have agreed to provide funding and scholarships for Utah teachers enrolling in WGU's innovative master of arts degree program in learning and technology. Intel will provide $65,000 for 10 scholarships. Questar has granted $50,000 to create an endowment fund for WGU that will provide on-going support for the university's operations and program development. In addition, Questar will contribute $6,500 yearly to fund a scholarship. (See press release.)

WGU has taken another step toward accreditation! The site visit that will help in determining accreditation candidacy has been scheduled for the first two weeks of February 2000. More info!

AOL Joins Advisory Board
America Online (AOL) has joined the WGU National Advisory Board (NAB) and also provided the university with a grant of funds and services valued at $250,000. (See the complete press release). George Vradenburg, AOL senior vice president for global and strategic policy, will represent the company and join 14 other government, corporate, foundation and higher education

leaders on the board, which works with WGU's professional staff and Board of Trustees to provide strategic counseling and guidance.
