All about me! (for employers)

Hello, my name is Jennalynn (Jenny) Morton and I am a senior computer science student at Trinity University, set to graduate in December of 2024. I am a quick learner and I love learning the basics of how to do anything and everything. I also love sharing my knowledge with others and helping them understand it, in whatever way works best for them.

For example, in the summer of 2023, I spent a month in Chicago teaching 7-13 year-olds how to make and monetize games in Roblox with iDTech.

I have been an ACM tutor since September 2022 and I work 4-6 hours every school week helping underclassmen computer science majors (or anyone who takes lower level compsci courses) with their homework, or anything they want to know that I have experience with.

Outside of CS activities, I am a member of Phi Delta Kappa. As of April 2023 I am the President of PDK, and before that I was the Treasurer for a year and the Standards Chair and Historian for two years. As president, it is my job to be the first point of contact to any non-Greek-Life orgs looking to collaborate or learn more about PDK, as well as to lead weekly meetings and generally ensure the health of the sorority. My favorite part of being president so far is that I have the authority to fix and optimize every aspect of how the sorority is run. For example, I organized the shared Google Drive that all members have access to so that information and resources are easier to find (especially for the less tech-savvy members).

One of my primary goals as a member of Phi Delta Kappa has been to help improve every member's mental health, partially because of the effect of the pandemic, but mostly because a lot of our members have one or more mental illnesses. As part of that, I have played a key role in many members' journey toward and outside of therapy, as I would sit down with everyone individually (if I thought they might need the help) and walk them through the process of setting up an appointment with one of the Trinity Counselors, and make sure they followed through with the appointment. I have also used my knowledge and experience as someone with trauma, ADHD, and anxiety to help anyone in whatever way I could.

I believe that is a reasonably good summary of who I am as a person and what I have to offer to potential employers, but if you have any further questions, or want to reach out about any opportunities you'd like to share, you can email me at jmorton1@trinity.edu.
