Main Objective: Learn and study art and the the essentials that give it it's meaning to help solve the mystery behind Magritte's work.

*Learn the principles and elements of design:

    -Definitions

    -Procedures

    -Form

    -Sources                                                                                                         

*Quiz on what you have learned so far.

*Sketch 10-12 designs in your sketchbook using the principles and elements of design (these will be used more in depth later in the project).

*Study Magritte's artwork:   

    -His style  

    -Techniques

    -Use of the elements and principles  

    -Structure of objects

*Let's put it all together: Examine Magritte's work and take a quiz on the principles and elements of design he uses in his art. And (using the sketches in your sketchbook) create a painting of your own using the principles and elements of design and Magritte's work as your muse.

*Learn about Magritte's Life:

    -His childhood

    -Way of thinking

    -View on art

*Solve the mystery: After studying the previous information find the reason and meaning behind Magritte's artwork, write a paper with your findings. But let's take it a step farther: Also include in the paper the significance of your own artwork, find your view of the world and how you display it's meaning through your artwork.
