Objective, Overview, and Rubric

 Objective:

To give student's the opportunity to select a country of their choice, learn about it, process the information they have obtained and then be able to present that information to the class. This project will help student's to practice both basic rote research skills, along side researching that requires them to process the information they have come across. Student's will also be presented with questions that require them to take what they have been learning and form their own opinions and responses. They will also be given an opportunity to discover problems their individual countries are facing and suggest possible solutions.

Overview:

For this project students will examine geographical location, current events, history, and the UN millennium development goals of a selected nation in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe or Asia. The overarching question of the project is: Is there any relationships that we can draw between a countries history, location, current events and the current “developmental” standing and progress. The project will be divided up into the above mentioned four sections for students to look at and study a little more in-depth. Students will concluded by integrating the information that they have learned form each of those section into a larger presentation about their country for the class.
