B. Compare and contrast the journey's of two main characters. Analyze why each character changes (or does not) and how the two characters are similar or different.

C. What do you learn from this book? What morals does the book convey and how? How does this apply to life today?

D. Find four examples of figurative language and demonstrate how they support the plot and characters.

E. What is the role of love in this book? Does it make the characters stronger or weaker? Is being in love something that improves the character?

Click on the underlined titles to hear a select excerpt read aloud.

While these excerpts represent a few of the important moments in our literature, I have not included many, many important scenes. As part of this final project, you must record yourself reading one of the excerpts you choose to use in your paper. If you need to use the school computers, sign up with me for a time during November or December and you may use the computer lab microphones during my class.

When speaking into the microphone, make sure you read slowly and clearly. You probably want to practice a few times before you record. Make sure you state the title of the book and what pages your excerpt covers at the end of your reading.

Final Project Parts:

            -Research Paper: Rubric
-Recording, minimum one and a half minutes

-Database, contribute at least two cards

The Recording and Database portions will count as one quiz grade each. The Research Paper will result in two quiz grades (Turning In and Documentation) and two test grades (Content and Mechanics)
