Set 01 of Renate's 2020 Pictures From Germany

Bob Jensen at Trinity University

In this picture I feature some photographs sent to me by Renate who lives not far from Kempten in Germany
We used to visit Erika's older brother, Rudi, who lived with his family in Kempten
Rudi is now deceased, but Erika is still close with his widow and grown children
We met Renate on one of her many visits to Sugar Hill where we live in New Hampshire
Renate and Rudi never met, although Renate has since met Rudi's widow

One difference difference this year between our New Hampshire mountains and the German mountains is timing of springtime
I'm writing this on Easter Sunday April 12, 2020 and looking out at the snow still on the ground
Renate's pictures of flowers in Germany were taken in very early 2020
Whereas we are having a cold and late springtime Germany had an warm and early springtime starting in January

The pictures below were taken before the 2020 pandemic lockdown

One of Renate's hobbies in retirement is water color painting

On January 16, 2020 Renate wrote the following about the Dachau Concentration Camp:
dear bob,
today it was so warm and sunny that I had my tea outside this beautiful building in the sun! it is located on a hill northwest of munich and you can see the alps about 100 km away and all over munichcity. it was built in 1500 and was a summerhome of the bavarian royal family. tragically in the same town which is dachau there was a concentrationcamp in the last century and many people lost their lives in that criminal regime! very sorry story!!!! greetings,
love to erika and you,
renate
